چکیده

In this paper, we study estimation and hypothesis testing for a failure time distribution function at a point in the current status model with observation times supported on a grid of potentially unknown sparsity and with multiple subjects sharing the same observation time. This is of interest since observation time ties occur frequently with current status data. The grid resolution is specified as cn−γ with c > 0 being a scaling constant and γ > 0 regulating the sparsity of the grid relative to the number of subjects (n). The asymptotic behavior falls into three cases depending on γ: regular ‘normal–type’ asymptotics obtain for γ < 1/3, non-standard cube-root asymptotics prevail when γ > 1/3 and γ = 1/3 serves as a boundary at which the transition happens. The limit distribution at the boundary is different from either of the previous cases and converges weakly to those obtained with γ ∈ (0, 1/3) and γ ∈ (1/3,∞) as c goes to∞ and 0, respectively. This weak convergence allows us to develop an adaptive procedure to construct confidence intervals for the value of the failure time distribution at a point of interest without needing to know or estimate γ, which is of enormous advantage from the perspective of inference. A simulation study of the adaptive procedure is presented.

Asymptotics for the infinite time ruin probability of a dependent risk model with a constant interest rate and dominatedly varying-tailed claim sizes

This paper mainly considers a nonstandard risk model with a constant interest rate‎, ‎where both the claim sizes and the inter-arrival times follow some certain dependence structures‎. ‎When the claim sizes are dominatedly varying-tailed‎, ‎asymptotics for the infinite time ruin probability of the above dependent risk model have been given‎.

Likelihood Based Inference for Current Status Data on a Grid: a Boundary Phenomenon and an Adaptive Inference Procedure By

In this paper, we study the nonparametric maximum likelihood estimator (NPMLE) for an event time distribution function at a point in the current status model with observation times supported on a grid of potentially unknown sparsity and with multiple subjects sharing the same observation time. This is of interest since observation time ties occur frequently with current status data. The grid re...

Estimating Time Varying Undirected Graphs

Undirected graphs are often used to describe high dimensional distributions. Under sparsity conditions, the graph can be estimated using l1 penalization methods. However, current methods assume that the data are independent and identically distributed. If the distribution, and hence the graph, evolves over time then the data are not longer identically distributed. In this paper, we show how to ...

همبستگی تخلخل با زبری توسط طیف پراکندگی سطوح نانویی سیلیکان متخلخل

Reflection spectra of four porous silicon samples under etching times of 2, 6, 10, and 14 min with current density of 10 mA/cm2 were measured. Reflection spectra behaviors for all samples were the same, but their intensities were different and decreased by increasing the etching time. The similar behavior of reflection spectra could be attributed to the electrolyte solution concentration which ...

Bayesian Prediction of future observation based on doubly censored data under exponential distribution

In many experiments about lifetime examination, we will faced on restrictions of time and sample size, which this factors cause that the researcher can’t access to all of data. Therefore, it is valuable to study prediction of unobserved values based on information of available data. in this paper we have studied the prediction of unobserved values in two status of one-sample and two-sample, whe...
